Microsoft Places
Microsoft is launching a new workplace app specifically designed to help with the challenges of hybrid working. The app is called Microsoft Places, and the company says it’s launching “soon” in beta.
The app will show a dashboard view that tracks what percentage of your team is due to be in the office on a given day and lets you list where you’re working in a given week. As well as tracking people’s locations, the app is also designed to help you organise your work around them by giving “insights and guidance” on travel time as well as helping people navigate to work locations within offices themselves.
Hours & Location Feature in Outlook & Teams
The email and calendar Microsoft apps now provide support for working hours and locations, which will let users share their availability and working location throughout the week to simplify meeting planning with colleagues.
This allows you to specify more details about your work schedule: from where you’re working (remotely or in office) and whether you work different hours on different days. In addition, you’ll be able to schedule meetings with others based on their work location and view work locations on people’s contact cards.
This new hours and location feature is also available in Microsoft Teams.
Loop App Private Preview
Microsoft Loop, a new app that combines a powerful and flexible canvas with portable components that stay in sync and move freely across Microsoft apps, is now in private preview. Microsoft also announced that it is expanding the availability of Loop components to more places across Microsoft 365 and is bringing more component types.
